"Keep it Funky"
- Bootsy Collins
Drunken Frenchmen is a New Orleans inspired Jazz and Funk project led by Denver Native drummer, Eric Low. The band also consists of Guitarist-Jonah Wisneski, Bassist-Charlie Mertens, and a rotating cast of additional contributors. The Frenchmen grew out of a mutual love for the culture and music of New Orleans and our Majestic home state of Colorado. The name "Drunken Frenchmen" is a dual reference to the famous ski run on Mary Jane at Winter Park Ski Resort, and the infamous Frenchmen Street in the heart of the French Quarter, where the music never stops.
In an attempt to bridge the gap between the Mountains and the Bayou we strive to evoke essential human emotions about being present in the moment and living life to the fullest. This mantra emanates from the core of our musical journey, emphasizing on Improvisation, Groove, Listening, Culture, and Friendship. Drunken Frenchmen repertoire varies from The Meters to The Crusaders to Cannonball Adderly to Phish, and everything in-between.
